A horseback rider that was part of the 76th annual Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo's Pony Express, which features Sheriff officer vehicles escorting a ceremonial horseback relay by 22 teams with two riders each with the riders going one mile before handing off the baton to the next rider all the way from Houston to the state Capitol, Austin, recreating scenes from the days of the Pony Express postal service from the 1800s. This rider ended up slamming into a side of the road sign-post on U.S. Highway 290.
